What is a workplace dispute?
Problems with your employer usually fall into one of two categories. Often, they are grievances – when you raise your concerns, problems or complaints with your employer. Disciplinaries are less common – when your employer has concerns about your work, conduct or absense.

The workplace should be an environment where everyone is a valued part of a team. People should feel confident when they go to work each day and when they leave work, they should feel as if they made a good contribution to their workplace on that day. They should be looking forward to seeing their colleagues on the following day. This is what happens for most people in the workplace, but for some, it’s a different story.
In some workplaces, an individual can feel isolated, bullied and harassed. They can be picked upon, treated poorly or worse than their colleagues and feel as if no-one is noticing, no-one cares and no-one is willing to do anything about it. Some individuals are discriminated against because of their race, religion, disability or gender, and often they don’t know where to turn.
