Parental consent must be given for us to work with children under the age of 16.
Ashford Mediation Service has been given your child’s name, contact details and information relevant to the case by the referral agency (or by you if you contacted us directly). While the mediation case is open we will use this information to contact you and to make appointments with you and your child. We may talk with your child on their own or contact your child directly by phone or text.
All personal information is stored securely. We will not share your child’s personal information with anyone outside the Mediation Service without your permission unless we hear of a risk of serious harm.
We retain your child’s details for up to 3 years, after which time all records are securely destroyed.
- You have a right to obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about your child.
- You have a right to ‘be forgotten’ (subject to restrictions under law) which means you can ask for information we hold about your child to be deleted from our records once the case is closed.
- You have the right to complain to the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) if you think there is a problem with the way we are handling your child’s data.
